1950 Born December 31st, Noncho, Taiwan

1967 Dropped out of high school. End of formal education in Taiwan.

1969-73 Focussed on painting in Taiwan.

1970-73 Obligatory enlistment for three years in Taiwanese Army.

1974 Began works as merchant seaman on an oil tanker, jumped ship, July 13th.
Illegal entry in the United Stated(Philadelphia)arrived in New York City without passport.
Lived as illegal alien untill US amnesty.

1978-79 ONE YEAR PERFORMANCE, September 29th, 1978- September 30th, Remained in a cage without talking, reading, writing, listening to radio Watching TV for one year, New York City.

1980-81 ONE YEAR PERFORMANCE, April 11th, 1980-April 11th,1981, Punched TIME CLOCK enery hour on the hour, 24 hours a day, For one year, New York City.

1981-82 ONE YEAR PERFORMANCE, September 26th, 1981-September 26th,1982, Stayed OUTDOORS without going into a building, subway, train, car, airplane, ship, cave, tent for one year, New York City.

1983-84 ART/LIFE ONE YEAR PERFORMANCE, july 4st, 1983-july 4st,1984, Linda Montano and Teching Hsieh tied toghter at the waist an 8 foot rope without touching each other for one year, New York City.

1985-86 ONE YEAR PERFORMANCE, July 1st, 1985-July 1st,1986, Did no art, talked no art, saw now art, read no art, did not enter museum or gallery, Just went in Life for one year, New York City.

1986-99 13 years plan. Will make Art during this time. Will not show it publicly. This plan began on my 36th birthday, December, 31st, 1986. and continues until my 49th birthday, December, 31st,1999, Earth.

2000 January 1st, 13 years piece ends, Public Report, "I kept myself alive. I passed the December 31st,1999." Earth.
