由於池上地區之特殊地理環境及人文、產業特色，本案設置理念之執行與落實，除公共藝術之「實體作品」之外，亦強調民眾參與計畫的推動與成效；這是考慮一般藝術家（團隊）所提出、執行之公共藝術設置計畫（含民眾參與計畫），往往難以質量並重、彼此銜接得當。故本計畫分為A案－「實體作品」及B案－「公共藝術推廣計畫」兩部份進行。

A案「實體作品」(3件)2017

This work is made up of two water buffalo, representing the hardship associated with the traditional cultivation of land. Placing them at a watering hole recreates a natural scene, while installing the piece in this location highlights the rural character of the area. However, the way in which the buffalo and egrets interact also infuses the scene with a sense of rural life and leisure. With art as the medium, the combination of local character in this space creates an aesthetic that encourages passersby to reflect and truly appreciate the unique beauty of Chishan Railway Station.

This work uses mainly earth colors to represent Chishang rural township, overlapping fields, and images of the four seasons. From the tender green shoots at the beginning of spring and the lush greenness of early summer comes the joy associated with a rich harvest from the golden-yellow rice paddies. The natural geometric lines and color palate are interwoven to create a powerful life force that creates an appealing artistic space.

In this work, small clouds present an image of modern simplicity, a mixture of graceful beauty and layering created by the wind. The piece is made from stainless steel, the mirror-finish of which imbues the material with a sense of lightness. Changes in natural light throughout the day reflect the environment and create different colors. At night, the punch-hole reticular structure of the clouds ensures the illumination from the lights inside radiate outwards, creating a scene in which light flows directly from the clouds. With each cloud suspended from the ceiling at a different height and connected to the walls, the result is a breathtaking three dimensional landscape painting.
